I dont have .mac, but I do run my own mail server from home, and use squirrelmail... i like the look of the new .mac webmail....
all i need now is for someone to release a simular setup, opensource for me to d/l and install... mmmmm
I think it does look nice. I just hope this is include in Leopard server as well. I would love to run my own mail server with this type of webmail interface.
Try RoundCube (http://www.roundcube.net/). Pretty similar, works well for my IMAP webmail systems. :) ;)

Hand barake is a great ripping tool but does anyone know of a free app to condense a dvd so that it can fit on a single 4.7 gb dvd?

I'm using Garmin Mobile XT on my Windows mobile phone--it's really really nice.
Using maps on my iPad.... uhhhh.... not so nice :P

Unfortunately that's something I have no control over, take it up with your government. Remember, if you live in a democracy they work for you.

This would be like you representing people for free because you have a second job somewhere. Loren can charge whatever he wants for Tweetie because he made it, and people can decide whether or not they want to pay what he's asking. What he's asking is more than fair IMO, so I have no problem paying. How anyone could think that what he's asking isn't fair boggles my mind.
My point is, each of us has our own lives to support, because really when it comes down to it, no one else is giving us a free ride...well except for you and thats not really fair.

It's estimated to cost around �250,000 to train a doctor, so if the NHS didn't pay for the training of their staff they wouldn't have any! Loren has complete control over what he asks for Tweetie, he's not dictated to like someone with a salary is. Salaries are dictated by supply and demand, capitalism, not fairness. So are app sales, if people don't think what Loren's asking is fair they won't pay it. But anyone that can say $3 isn't a fair price is silly.
It's your decision whether you work at that salary, it's also the customer's decision whether or not they pay for the update. If the pay isn't fair then quit. If the app's too expensive (in your eyes) then don't buy it.
In regards to criminal prosecutors, do you not have any form of trade union to fight for your cause (and salaries)?

He stated that he wanted to do things to Tweetie that were impossible to do without rewriting the app from scratch. Thats fine, but you can't leave your old customers out in the cold like he did. People paid for Tweetie 1 without knowing that Loren would be pulling this stunt off. Thats not fair to them, they deserve to be satisfied, they paid a fair amount and got ditched, bamboozled, baited and switched.
They paid for Tweetie 1. They got Tweetie 1. They did NOT pay for constant updates which are at the discretion of Loren. They are NOT entitled to free updates for life, or x number of years. Again, that's at Loren's discretion. Loren did not leave customers "out in the cold". Tweetie 1 works just as well as the day he sold them it, and will continue to do so.
I don't know where you got this idea of an entitlement to updates from, because it's nowhere in the contract you made when buying the app. You aren't entitled to free OSX updates, or for any other kind of software.

That particular enclosure uses one eSATA port for each drive in the enclosure. You certainly could put only your 2TB drive into it and use that drive by itself, but you would not be able to daisy chain to another enclosure.

If Adobe priced this for $29.99 on the App Store I would buy it as a companion tool to PS CS5. But I don't think I would be using my fingers to work... I would incorporate a POGO Stylus.
What would be cool is if you could tap your left index finger and then the POGO to enable a "right click" for options.
I would be even more interested in an Illustrator for the iPad!
What I still want though is to be able to shoot tethered to an iPad. Has anyone heard of an app that will allow me to instantly see what I just shot with a tethered DSLR?

yes, it is 1.5. I'm fairly new to Mac's so I don't have much insight into why this is happening, but basically the 3 apps affected are menu bar items that aren't on the menu bar by default, so I imagine that's the root of the issue

I've recommended it before, I'll recommend it again:
Cocoa Gestures (http://www.bitart.com/CocoaGestures.html) (there's a lightweight free version that I use, and a beefy shareware version.)
Gestures, for those not familiar, let you set a hotkey or hotbutton (on a multi-button mouse) that, when held in combination with drawing patterns ("gestures") with the mouse, will execute various options. Single biggest timesaver/hand movement reducer I have ever installed on a computer, period (and I've been using 'em since the before there was a Mac).
Gives a three button mouse more power than a seven button mouse.
Awesome tip for web browsing: Program the menu items for your most heavily used links as gestures, and you can hit your favorite pages with a flick of the wrist.

Unfortunately it panics even without the cards - turn on bong, them white screen with apple logo then grey screen with power symbol saying you need to restart your computer and over the top of it all some script about the 'unresolved kernal trap(cpu0)
Would it help if I posted the script or anything from it?
btw the ticking seems to be coming from the back of the power supply near the inlet. Non of the fans are twitching etc

Most of the phones running android within the last year and a half can run 90% of the apps available on the Market. And most of the handsets are great for their use, rather it be budget smartphone: Optimus 1 family or highend: Droid line or Keyboard: G2 by htc. Developers are flocking to android because it is growing faster then iOS.
Versus IOS devices that can run 100% of the apps?
I'd like to see your numbers as well, as honeycomb is supposed to be where it's headed, and last I checked, there weren't record numbers of developers flocking to that iteration of the OS.

Besides worrying about Manufacturers and telco vendors, people need to always be aware that when they have a device such as an iPhone, iPad, and Android device, that they are carrying around a pocket, or highly portable computer.
Security concerns you would have with data on your laptop should be carried over to those devices, and even, be paid closer attention to. You are carrying around a device that is most always internet connected, has cameras, has GPS, has Microphones, and motion sensors.
I don't consider my iPhone a spy device, but, I keep all of those things in mind when I am running around with it ;) .

I noticed the same after upgrading to 4.3.x on my iPad.
The UI is no longer as responsive as it used to be, and I also noticed there's a memory leak somewhere; not sure if it's caused by an application or the system itself is not reallocating memory properly.
Powering OFF and restarting it every few days keeps it running better, but I still feel it's slower than before. :mad:
