Any thoughts on peripherals? I know new keyboards/mice/trackpads sometimes accompany an iMac refresh. Maybe we'll see the trackpad come standard now, in anticipation of Lion's new multitouch gestures. Any of you backlit-keyboard dreamers out there hopeful? (Personally I'd just like to see a wireless, non-backlit keyboard with black keys, to match the notebook keyboards.)

Unlikely. USB still retains advantages in ubiquity, cost and far more devices supported per connection (128 vs 16). I would see WiFi and Bluetooth as bigger USB competitors.

I am a VZW customer who has been waiting for the iPhone 5 but my Droid original is about to die. I'm getting the white Iphone the minute it comes out with news of the latest IPhone 5 delay and because everyone has black. I can't wait anymore and will just sell the 4 on ebay for $400+ and buy the 5 outright (3GS still go for 300+ on ebay used). Plus I will lock into unlimited data for future LTE :)

That thing is ugly! I hope the next iPhone doesn't look like that or I'm going to puke. I'd rather have an iPhone 4... anyways it doesn't look like something Apple would make, so I doubt that's the iPhone 5.

All the rest of the stuff (dealing with power outages, internet outages, maintenance, restarts, software updates, etc.) is nonsense. It's what I do normally or would only very remotely occur.
I didn't say it was a BIG deal, just that it may be a factor to consider. Granted, I did lump in "basically anything that could cause your server to not be available when you need it".
I actually do keep all my music on a NAS in my basement so I can access it anywhere. It generally works well. However, sometimes my home internet connection is down and I can't connect. And one problem with my NAS (D-Link DNS-323) is that after a power failure, it doesn't automatically start up again when the power comes back. That has been the cause of many "Grr, why isn't it connecting?" moments for me. It's not a big problem, I just have to remember to go downstairs and turn it on again. And lately I've noticed that instead of spinning up the drive to give me my files, it times out and doesn't let me connect at all. Maybe a firmware upgrade needed?
All I'm saying is, I can see paying $20/year to not have to deal with these kinds of issues.

Anyone else notice that apple.com (http://www.apple.com)'s front page is all about the white iPhone 4 even though it was updated with new iMacs? The new iMacs get a little tile on the bottom left.

I have a feeling that whatever problems they had with the white color was solved a long time ago. I'm sure they've been ready to produce white iPhones fr several months and are waiting till the 1 year anniversary time fram to start shipping the white iPhone to boost sales seeing as the iPhone 5 was pushed back to September.

I love my iPhone 4 and hope that 5 is more kick ass updates under the same hood. Loved my 2g, disliked 3G, 3GS form factors, but am led further to believe that with iPhone 4 coming in white, this late in the cycle, that the iPhone 5 will be more of a slight upgrade iPhone 4G/GS as mentioned in past posts and forums. Wow. I knew exactly what I did. I was fishing for an official response and noted I had planned, like every other year, to upgrade to the newest phone this summer. Instead of detailing exactly why the date was moved, I was told about Apple's plans not to release during June/July. I too purchased the iPhone 4 as soon as it was available, and in fact had it in my hands on the 23rd.
I don't know where this got off track onto how and when I pay my bill, but you don't need to jump on me for forwarding an email.

Where this got "off track" or rather on the track it should've been on in the first place is that clearly if your upgrade was pushed back it was from any number of things people have posted about for years now on the matter: bill payment, length of being a customer, level of account, etc... Your story is making less and less sense, and here's where actually thinking first comes in handy:
If a customer service rep told you that the iPhone had been delayed then either this was public knowledge, thus why forward the email to MacRumors, or this wasn't public knowledge, thus why would a first contact customer rep even know this let alone say anything about it?

DUDE! Was that online or in store? I will go buy one today if they have them at my store. Been wanting a tv as well. Do you like it? Is 40" good for gaming and hooking a laptop up to?
My local Walmart supercenter (1 of 3 here in Columbia, MO) was "spring cleaning" for lack of a better word, their TV selection. Almost all of last year's models were discounted by ~20% or so.
However, I can't help but think this TV was a mis-mark, as it rang up at $478 and had to get a manager's approval (both times).
Certainly worth looking, though.
40" is a great size, imo. Because, it *can* be used just about anywhere in the home, for any particular use. Sure, I'd love bigger; but since I don't even know where I'll be living in six months (I'm about to graduate college), it just doesn't make sense to go bigger.
For ~$300, it's damn nice, and much better than the Insignia and Dynex 32" TVs you typically buy at that price. It lacks a lot of inputs (has just one of each type), and it's only 60hz (even though that doesn't really bother me at all). But I really like it so far... sound is good, picture is great, blacks are deep and rich, and the backlight is nice and even.

As long as my daughter is in there, I will have a say who goes in the bathroom. my daughter isn't a woman yet, she is a girl, and I will do whatever it takes to protect her. I'm currently running on a 7200 rpm 100 GB (with only 10 GB free), and either of the options in the new machines will be slower (but cooler and less battery hungry)... am I going to be unhappy with a 4200 rpm 200 GB drive? Does anyone know the cache size or any other specs for the 200 GB drive?
4200rpm is dog-slow. Go for the 5400rpm drive and use the money you saved for a nice big FW800 external HDD.

How reliable has Bloomberg been in the past? If they have a good track record, then this could actually be the first good sign that the iPhone 5 is delayed.
However, the article cites a random Toronto "analyst" as the basis for the delayed 5, and a tweet as the basis for the white version coming soon (in addition to two supposed informants).
I'm still convinced that Apple has done a good job of tightening up it's leaks this year, and we're seeing desperation from the tech sphere for any news. Does anyone remember the extremely crazy rumors from earlier this year? I have a feeling lots of plugs were leaked at that time, and this could be Apple testing security prior to WWDC.
