I have applied 485 just last month (haven't got my receipt yet though) but I didn't get any RFE in the 140 process, it was approved last year. But yes, go ahead and do the 'paid consultation' - as you mentioned, most certainly they will ask you to file an ammended H1 - personally, I don't think that will be an issue in the GC process.
How did your GC process turn out? Any RFEs because of this?
Basically I don't have a problem with amending my H1B if it does not do me any harm when it comes to my GC. What's most irritating is that my GC attny who has all the answers and could very easily advice me what to do suggested to set up a PAID CONSULTATION with their H1B attorney to discuss this. I am almost certain that eventual conclusion will be that its o.k. to amend the H1B. Even during this time after having spent the 1000s of $$$ for my GC they still want to milk me for more money and that's more troublesome than anything else. Its just the attitude.
Having said all this, I think I am going to spend the $$, talk to the H1B attny just for my own satisfaction.

Don't Worry, I have been there 3 Times. Since I my start of GC process with the currents company, It has been acquired 3 times , So I am pro in that situation :)

My sponsoring company 'A' was acquired by company 'B' last month and name changed to company 'B' with B's pay stubs.
Am on H1 now and i applied my 485 in August 2007 with 140 approved in May 2007.
Company B informed me that they informed USCIS regarding the acquisition(i don't what they mean !!).
Questions:
1. How is my green card process proceeds with company 'B'? Should the company 'B' file I140 amendment or is there any thing they have to take care?
2. Can i join with company 'C' by invoking AC21?
Please share your thoughts and experiences.

I think, you could wait for few more weeks. Sometimes, the delay may be due to the unavailability of appointment dates at the nearest uscis office. In your case, I guess it is Newark or New Jersey or whatever..which I guess is an office with lot of applicants under its jurisdiction.
If you apply this logic to a person from a remote place, that will answer why he receives a notice early.
Well I won't suggest you to wait for more than 6-8 weeks.

I filed my H1 extension in late February and got it approved in mid March. This was not premium processing.
It was the extension beyond 6th year. Extension got approved for 3 years since 140 is thru. My current H1 expires in August and the extension will go into effect from then. I've been with the same company for last 6 years and had no issues.

Company B is willing to take me but the issue is how do I join B. The options which I see are that B files my GC under EB2 or EB3 and I continue to work with company A till then. But then in EB2/EB3 the processing will take years till I get my EAD and join company B.

Perm Labor � Have perm labor approval copy.
Since it has been more than 180 days I 485 is pending and I 140 also approved, I joined my client. Now my old employer says he will withdraw my I 140.
I would like to send AC21 job change info to USCIS my self.
Please let me know if any one is in the same situation and filed (informed) AC21 by yourself.
And also advice if anyone used new attorney only for AC21.

Actually the provisions in S 1932 (Sections 8001 and 8002) were dropped when the bill went to the House. This is a very good point ,if illegal under guest worker program can pursue a path to a citizenship after 6yrs provided that they can show they have paid taxes, learn English and pass background check...Why can't we ask the same for us, we have entered US legally without breaking any law, are paying taxes and are highly educated let aside learn English. And the senators have agreed about getting in line or behind the line (First in first out) approach for getting Citizenship, we are just asking for GC ;) ?

I dont have any changes to status when I check my 485 case status online but today in the mail i received I797c notice welcoming me as a premenant residence. I am a bit hesitant to celebrate, but am I seeing green?:o

The only language indigenous to India on the list of translators seems to be Punjabi. As far as I know the place where they might place you would be in NWFP in Pakistan. Do you really want a green card at that cost? :rolleyes:

But with in one month of my h1 approval of nov2007 i came to India.
I did one certification(one paper) in one language in november2007.
I have only one paystub.Do i need my employer 3 yrs tax papers.I am the 1st employee to my employer.Is any other documents needed other than pictures of my employers office,tax papers.Did i have to submit my indian experience or any other documents from indian company.Right now Can i change years of experience in india(Actually i submitted in h1 process 2 +yrs of experience in india,Can i change that to 1 yr exp in india now.Because i missed few documents of india experience).
In which location is easy for me to stamp delhi|mumbai|chennai.
Pls post experiences and needed docs.
