I'd rather pay and get upgrades than have the developer abandon the app because it isn't profitable to do anymore free updates. What should Loren do when everyone that will buy Tweetie already has it? Develop updates out of the goodness of his heart?
The app store has a problem, and that's the amount of crap and cheapness of that crap. It drives the price of everything down. Factor in that ALL upgrades are free and you have a major problem for devs. You can sell an app once to each user, at next to nothing cost, and that's all you get. Yes, initially it's good when you're selling 100K apps a week but what happens when everyone's bought your app? The app store has a sustainability problem, and it will soon rear it's ugly head.
Compare it to desktop software where even the most basic apps cost $10+ and all upgrades are paid.
I'm quite happy to pay Loren �1.79 every 8-12 months for his work on Tweetie because frankly it's amazing and �1.79 is pretty much nothing.
The problem with most whambulance drivers such as yourself is pretty much the same problem with society at large. You only care about yourself and what you can get for yourself regardless if it's at the expense of others. You have no social responsibility. People's inability to look past their own nose and care about others is really quite pathetic. You don't care if Loren gets paid for his work, or for a sustainable app store. I stopped using Parallels Desktop because my pc is not powerful enough to run the 2 OS's at once. But at the time I used it, I can still remember that the clipboard of Windows is the same as in Mac.
So just press in Windows cntr+c (or x) and in Mac apple+v and it should paste what you've copied in Windows.

I got these floor mats as a gift. They are from American Muscle for my mustang :)
I absolutely love them so far! I bought sequential lights and a decal for the third brake light myself. Can't wait to install them!

I'm not sure why people are all out of sorts with this increase. Basically it seems people are mad that it will cost them more to end a contract early? Is upgrading before the end of two years really that important?
Maybe I'm just odd, but two years with a product really isn't all that long.

Much better than the old one. Too bad GM insists on selling the I4 LTZ for the same price of a Fusion V6.
I bet that I4 LTZ sells better than the V6 Fusion. V6's in mid-size sedans will become rare with CAFE. The new Malibu is supposed to be I4 only. The next-gen Fusion will also ditch the V6 from what I hear. Sonata already is I4 only.

A person can buy a movie from iTunes and play it on as many iPODS they want (how many does a single household actually have?) or a person can just get netflix, request the movie, rip it, put it on his OR her iPOD, and watch it as many times as he or she wants.
I WOULD NEVER DO THAT, but I know people that would think about it...

I still don't understand what the issue is here. I can buy a DVD for almost the same amount and play it on as many devices as I want. The DVD has much better quality than the Apple downloads and has extra bonus features as well.
Oh, and part of the reason movies are now costing so much is for the exhorbitant salaries that certain actors get paid.
agreed. maybe DVDs should explode after being inserted into five different players :rolleyes:
also, maybe instead of paying Tom Cruise et al $25m a film (a quarter of this average 'budget'), why not get decent actors? or the studios agree more reasonable salaries. i mean, i couldn't even spend that much money. there are only so many apple products :D

For whatever reason, after any change in the itunes media folder, such as downloading a new mp3 or updating an iOS app, Time Machine insists on backing up the entire 30gb+ of the media folder.
Any ideas why this is happening?

Hello, I currently have a iPod touch 2g with 4.2.1 firmware and a iPod touch 4g with 4.2.1 firmware but when I try to jailbreak both iPods with the corresponding firmware, redsn0w freezes at "waiting for reboot.". Anyone know of a fix? I tried unplugging and plugging iPod, also switching ports.

well guys i'm finally moved into the new house, and finally got internet going today. but the internet is terrible here, no cable - just DSL @3.0 mbps.
i just got 4 x 260's folding at the moment.
i will crank up some of the other rigs during the week or weekend.
during the move, for some reason my hard drive crashed on my main folding rig. i had to replace the hard drive, and i got it running as a hackintosh at the moment (while i didn't have internet; just to play around with) but i still have to install windows on it and get everything setup.
looks like everyone has been folding well while i've been out the last couple of weeks though. great job everyone! :)
we are now #62 overall though. hopefully we can continue to get better.
